Usually we can hear
such a report like a blizzard let traffic paralysis or make the traffic
accident on high-speed ways.
For most areas, the icy surfaces can become a very
dangerous challenge to drive on snow & ice in winter for most people.
So
the performance of vehicles on snow & ice became very important to all the
vehicles manufacturers.
This time, Matter Motorsport cooperated with SGM Buick, and showed a wonderful snow & ice test drive experience.
The outdoor temperature reached -23℃ that day, the surfaces conditions were quite bad for the vehicles,
it was a big challenge to test all
the performance and electronic auxiliary equipment of the vehicles in such
extreme condition situation.
We set up three different stations for this test drive, and each one has the right vehicles which correspond to the right track.
These stations were “Up & Down Hill” + “8 Slalom”；“Breaking” + “Bumpy Road”；“Asymmetric Pavement Start”,
and also we got a small race track. This track referred to the famous Moto GP race track – Laguna Seca. It was quite interesting.
Experience of driving on snow & ice：
1. The vehicle can easily spun out of control when driving on such surface, so it’s very important to have a set of snow tires.
2. Because of the special surface, we should drive much more carefully, especially during the start and avoid breaking suddenly.
3. Drifting on snow & ice is not very difficult, you should need more practice and experience of how to control the throttle and steering wheel.
4. Also because of this kind of surface, we can do any driving actions which can’t do on normal roads. But on the other hand, we should drive carefully in our normal driving life.
